Ultimamente, girovagando tra uno shop online ed un altro, la mia attenzione è stata colpita da una fantasia particolare, originale e colorata: il jacquard.
Questo tipo di pattern si sposa perfettamente sui capi più svariati, dal classico bomber al cocktail dress. Tuttavia è piuttosto difficile da abbinare, e si corre spesso il rischio di sembrare “sovraccarichi” ed  eccessivi: ecco perché ho pensato di stilare alcuni punti e consigli da tenere a mente quando acquisterete il vostro prossimo capo jacquard.

Lately, while wandering around online shops, my attention was caught by a particular pattern, very original and colourful: the jacquard.
This kind of motive looks perfect on a series of different pieces, from the classical bomber to the fancy cocktail dress. However, it’s quite hard to combine, and the risk to look “overdressed” and excessive is always around the corner: that’s why I decided to write down a few notes and advices to keep in mind when you will buy your next jacquard item.

Un pezzo per volta. / One piece at a time.

Come ho già detto, il pericolo che si corre con questa fantasia, è quello di risultare troppo cariche. L’ideale, allora, è di optare per un solo pezzo in fantasia jacquard nell’outfit, e di puntare su quello. Come? Scegliendo capi basic per il resto del look, dai colori neutri, in modo che il vero pezzo forte risulti proprio il capo jacquard.

As I was saying, the risk you might take with this motive, is to look exaggerated. The ideal thing to do, then, is to opt only for one piece in jacquard in the outfit, and to valorize that. How? By choosing basic items for the rest of the look, of neutral tones, so that the real showpiece comes to be right the jacquard one.

Attenzione al dettaglio. / Keep an eye on the detail.

Per indossare questo motivo non servono necessariamente giacche stravaganti o vestiti coloratissimi: a volte il jacquard può “nascondersi” anche in accessori e dettagli. Un esempio? Lo stivaletto con punta e tacco squadrato, molto in voga questo inverno. Vi consiglio di dare un’occhiata a quelli in vendita su Asos, alcune fantasie meritano davvero.

In order to wear this motive, you don’t necessarily need extravagant jackets or super colourful dresses: sometimes the jacquard can be “hidden” even in accessories and details. An example? The ankle boot with square heel, super trendy this winter. I suggest you to have a look at the ones on Asos, some patterns are really fantastic.

Toni pastello. / Pastel tones

Il jacquard è senza dubbio una di quelle fantasie che attira l’attenzione. Per addolcire il look ed evitare di risultare troppo “aggressive”, puntate sui toni pastello. Dal rosa pallido all’acquamarina, dal verde chiaro al celeste, i colori chiari e luminosi sono sicuramente i più adatti per questo pattern.

Jacquard is certainly one of those patterns that attracts attention. To make the look sweeter and avoid to result too “aggressive”, go for pastel tones. From pale pink to acquamarine, light green to baby blue, light and clear colours are the best ones for these pieces.
